Linda Clark-Looking For My Pig
Dig the screaming teens-are they screaming at the horror of loosing the pig , or are they screaming in favor of loosing pigs?
In any event, the subject matter is not something I would do the Swim in an over-sized sweatshirt over.

I didn't think there was a whole lot of breaking news on ABBA these days , but Mikory's ABBA Blog more than proves me wrong.
Instead of full-on obsessiveness with 1992 style layout and shitty jpegs, you get a well designed site that's ABBAlicious in the extreme with tidbits about what the members are up to now, and choice clippings from back when.
Very concise overview of the often overlooked recordings of Richard Brautigan. Many of which are available on CD . [See article]
Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson totally loves cats and kittens as well as Indian food.
Let me bring you songs from the cat:
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the kitten grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can:
it'll make of you an honest man.
Let me bring you love from the ASPCA:
kittens angora and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in Meow Mix™.
Let me bring you all things refined:
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the dude to change your litterbox.
I am the cross to take your nail:
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.
Songs from the cat make you feel much better.
Listen to some Tull post haste.

Uh, hello, first time caller-long time listener... this is a question for uh Steely?.....
Scenarios like this can be avoided by consulting The Steely Dan Dictionary "an A-Z glossary of over 80 obscure words, people and places — all taken from the lyrics of Steely Dan songs."
For further hagiography of that which is "The Dan" check out The Steely Dan Internet Resource. To avoid speculation, The official page is where you want to go. MetaDanology is available from The Steely Dee page at Only Solitaire, George Starostin's Music Review page, an entertaining read in and of itself.
He says: "this page is not written by from the point of view of a Steely Dan fanatic and is not generally intended for narrow-perspective Steely Dan fanatics. If you are deeply offended by criticism, non-worshipping approach to your favourite artist, or opinions that do not match your own, do not read any further. " but you should 'cause it's really good.
Under the Banyan Trees with Steely Dan (another good resource) is on sabatical indefinately and has shrink wrapped the site.

I like Mark Lindsay as much as the next guy or gal but choose to honor him without intrusive midi and flashing gee gaws. The Official Site is a study in stark contrast.

"The 1950's and 60's bring back many vivid memories but among those stands one that few are able to forget; Elvis Presley King of Rock and Roll. During the early 1960's Elvis Presley had a private liaison with a young star in the entertainment business. This actress in-turn carried in her womb the child of the King himself, where by putting herself as well as Elvis in the eye of public scrutiny. Elvis at this time was at the height of his fame, he was the "king of the world" as well as the king of Rock and Roll". Bobby Soxers adored him and young men wanted to be him, he was the symbol for clean cut America. Those in charge of his career wanted to keep his reputation in order fearing that a marriage to this actress and his imminent father-hood would wipe out his fame and fortune. These decision-makers forbade him to marry and put great pressure on the young lady to have an abortion. She decided to deliver the baby in secret and save Elvis the shame and publicity of a Hollywood scandal.
Shortly after giving birth to Elvis Jr., the young mother gave the child to a young loving couple who were unable at the time to produce children of their own. Conditions of the adoption were simple, they were to under no circumstances, reveal the child's natural birth parents or seek any notoriety or monetary supplementation from the Presley family on be-half of the child.
Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. grew up surrounded by show business, his adopted parents were "The Vargas" circus performers with the Ringling Bros Circus show that traveled throughout North and South America. At the tender age of five, Elvis Jr. first entered the spotlight as a circus clown. He later trained exotic cats and became the shows wild animal trainer.
Elvis Jr. was awarded his name legally by The Federal US Court after sufficient documents and sworn testimonies were presented to a Judge. These documents including the last will and testament of Elvis Presley, established proof that Elvis did indeed had a son and the son was in fact born out of wedlock.
These documents were obtained not by Elvis Jr. but by investigators of the Government of the United States of America. This research included a lie detector test, a blood test with a D.N.A test to follow. Upon deliberation and examination of all evidence incurred a decision that should set the record straight. Elvis Jr., by the decision of the United States Government is allowed to use the name Elvis Aaron Presley Jr.
Elvis Jr.'s talent as a musician and entertainer is a gift to all who enjoy the works of his late father. His loving tribute to his father's works as well as performing his own music will captivate each and every listener. His look, his style, his grace, and demeanor surely show that the King's legacy carries on. "
