RADIO ART NOT CONTRADICTION IN TERMS FOR LONDON COLLECTIVE
Resonance 104.4 fm brought to you by the altruistic dreamers at the London Musicians Collective is Britain's first (that I know of) freeform radio experiment.
Not just one show, but 24/7's worth of jiggery pokery and avant knees up with some of the finest sonic artists of the sceptered isle.
They Broadcast from Central London ,with a transmitter at London Bridge, and have a 3 mile range in all four directions .
They, also warn in some areas (such as Hackney and Brixton), the signal may be poor. But then again, if you're in Hackney or Brixton, both your neighbors and your demeanor may also be poor, so no suprises there.
They welcome contributions, but make sure that they are adressed to a specific person at the station whom you feel has the same cosmic vibe as you.
Promising looking shows include:
The 50-50 Experience w/Jah Beef and Papa Milo [Tuesdays] Old school instrumental dub and soul
Hooting Yard On the Air w/ Frank Key [Wenesdays] promises contemporary literary masterpieces
Saltpetre Radio w/ Salena Saliva Godden [ Wednesdays] poetry and spoken word
Mining For Gold w/Johny Brown [ Fridays]
"Lost gems, hidden treasures, sudden explosions in sound - Johny Brown plays mixes, perpetrates eccentric sound, song and beat; and talks to hidden geniuses and characters of ill repute."
Framework w/ Patrick McGinley [ Fridays] Phonography and field recordings.
and pantloads of shitty glitch-hop and malfunctioning radio noises.
Oh hell, anything not labeled "electronic" or "experimental" sounds great.
Savage Pencil has a show, so Do People Like Us, and even the apologists at B3ta.com have, to their audible suprise, a show.
Of course they have streaming audio luvvy.
Here's the B3ta lads with an unintentional (or not) Critique that says it all
